Following our Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, it's timely to ask ourselves when is a good time to take a break?
We should never allow ourselves to get to the point where we are so overwhelmed or spread thin that we get "stressed out’. By keeping scheduled breaks (an early night one day a week, a scheduled three day weekend, or just several hours during the course of a day), we can allow ourselves to keep fresh. Nothing prohibits us more than thinking we’re "to busy" to take that mental health break.
One important item I was reminded of in Crestcom Management training was that "neither things, people, nor a busy schedule can give us stress; rather, we give ourselves stress. Things, people and/or a busy schedule can give us pressure. How well we handle the pressure is our own personal decision. Having a schedule with designated breaks for is the best way to handle this pressure and avoid stress.
